Achieving a truly flat, invisible seam requires patience, skill, and specialized tools. We follow a strict multi-coat process for a Level 4 or Level 5 finish.
The foundation of a good finish is strong tape. We apply high-quality paper or fiberglass tape to all seams and inside corners, embedding it in a specialized setting compound to prevent future cracking or bubbling.
Once the base coat is dry, we apply subsequent layers of topping compound, feathering the edges wider with each pass. This gradual building up of mud is what makes the seams disappear to the naked eye.
The final step is arguably the most important. We use specialized lighting to check for imperfections, and utilize dust-controlled sanding equipment to polish the walls to a perfectly smooth, ready-to-paint surface.
